Question 823025
Start:
John has "J" coins.
Smith has "S" coins.
----------------------------
John gives smith as many coins as Smith has.
Now:
John has J-S coins.
Smith has 2S
----------------------------
Smith then gives John as many coins as John has remaining
Then:
John has J-S+[J-(J-S)] = J
Smith has 2S - [J-(J-S)] = S
Now John has 36 coins and Smith has 42 coins.
How many coins that each of them have to begin with?
John has "J" coins = 36
Smith has "S"coins = 42
