When multiplying or dividing, the rule is, when the signs are the same, the answer is positive.

{{{(-a)/(-b)=a/b}}}
When the signs are different the answer is negative:
{{{-a(b)=-ab}}}
{{{a(-b)=-ab}}}
{{{(-a)/b=-a/b}}}
{{{a/(-b)=-a/b}}}
