Question 818527
{{{Q}}}= average of all quizzes
{{{T}}}= average of all tests (not including the final)
{{{E}}}= average of all exercises
{{{F}}}= grade on the final
The average is calculated as
{{{0.2Q+0.6T+0.1E+0.3F}}}
If {{{0.2Q+0.6T+0.1E=88}}}
and you want {{{0.2Q+0.6T+0.1E+0.3F=91}}} ,
that is {{{88+0.3F=91}}} ,
{{{0.3F=91-88}}} ,
{{{0.3F=3}}} , and
{{{F=3/0.3}}} so you want {{{F=10}}} .

In college, I once did that kind of calculation and skipped studying for the final, because I did not need the points. The instructor was not pleased with me. He told me so in no uncertain terms. Fortunately, some time passed until I had to take another course with the same instructor.
