Question 816458

Trying to help my kid. Too long ago... The question is:
Q. Write the slope-intercept form of the equation of the line through the given point with the given slope:

through: (5, 0), slope =2/5

Thank you very much.

<pre>
You can use the point-slope form: {{{y - y[1] = m(x - x[1])}}}, with: m, or slope = {{{2/5}}}; {{{x[1] = 5}}}; and {{{y[1] = 0}}}
Thus, {{{y - y[1] = m(x - x[1])}}} becomes {{{y - 0 = (2/5)(x - 5)}}}______{{{highlight_green(y = (2/5)x - 2)}}}, or {{{highlight_green(y = 0.4x - 2)}}} (slope in decimal form)
