Question 813232

Andrew wants to make a salad using mushrooms and lettuce. the salad needs to have 40 percent mushrooms. He has 19 ounces mushrooms and 12 ounces of lettuce. how many ounces of the mushrooms should be used if He wants to use all of the lettuce

Mushroom + mushroom = mushroom

Let quantity of mushrooms be M

M + 0(12) = .4(M + 12)

M = .4m + 4.8

M - .4M = 4.8

.6M = 4.8

M, or quantity of mushrooms to be used = {{{4.8/.6}}}, or {{{highlight_green(8)}}} oz.
