Question 68339
f (x) is often use as a function notation. It doesn't mean f times x rather it refers to the range of the function whose domain is represented by x.
f(x) = 5x^2 – 3x + 1, find f(–2). f(-2) refer to the value of a function when evaluated for a particular element of the domain.

{{{f(-2) = 5(-2)^2 - 3(-2) + 1}}}
f(-2) = 4(5) + 6 + 1
f(-2) = 20 + 6 + 1
f(-2) = 27
