Question 805740

Hello,

I am currently having a dispute with my old roommate. The two of us are getting different answers when we attempt to solve our problem. I know this is a bit strange but if you could help me find the right answer I would be THRILLED!

So we owe $182.80 in final move-out fees from our old apartment.
She is paying half, I am paying the other half but I have to pay $15 more for leaving heavy trash in the closet.
How much do we each pay?

Her answer:

$106.40 (me) + $76.40 (her) = $182.80

- To me, this means she would be paying $30 less than me instead of $15 less. if this IS the correct answer then I would love clarification.

My answer:

$98.90 + $83.90 = $182.90

I have asked seven people for help. Four agree with me and three agree with her answer.

Like I said, I would just really appreciate the correct answer and a little clarification if you could provide it.

THANK YOU,
Amanda Aldeghi

Her answer: Your share - her share = $30
Her answer: Your share + her share = 182.80

Your answer: Your share - her share = $15
Your answer: Your share + her share = 182.80

Regardless of what others think, who do you think is REALLY correct?

You can do the check!!
