Question 804749
<font face="Times New Roman" size="+2">

First you need a Quantity relationship. There are a total of 300 tickets sold of two types, type *[tex \Large x] and type *[tex \Large y], so:

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ x\ +\ y\ =\ 300]

Next you need a Value relationship. Type *[tex \Large x] tickets have a value of $12 each, so the value all of the $12 tickets is *[tex \Large 12x]. Similarly, the value of all of the $15 tickets is *[tex \Large 15y]. The value of all of the tickets of both kinds is $4140, so:

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ 12x\ +\ 15y\ =\ 4140]

Solve the 2X2 linear system for *[tex \Large (x,\,y)]

Finally, you either are or are not GOOD at something, or you do or do not do WELL at something. But "...I've never been very well at story problems." isn't right.
