You are very close.  You did all of the calculations correctly, but you introduced round-off errors into your intermediate calculations.  The rule is to NOT round anything until you get to your final answer.


So, you should have had 1.875 minutes for all of Wanda's laps and for Fred's lap #2.  0.25/8 = 0.03125.  0.03125 * 60 = 1.875.


Then for Fred's lap #1, .25/10 = 0.25.  0.25 * 60 = 1.5, and Lap #3, .25/6 approx. 0.04166 (close enough).  0.01466 * 60 = 2.5.


3 times 1.875 is 5.625 whereas 1.5 + 1.875 + 2.5 = 5.875 and 5.875 minus 5.625 is 0.25 which rounds to 0.3 minutes.
