In this case, r = 5 1/3 ft, which as an improper fraction is 16/3 feet.

{{{A = pi * (256/9) }}} which can be written as {{{(256*pi)/9}}} feet.


However, some books want you to substitute 3.14 for pi, and calculate the decimal approximation.  Do what you need to do!  I like leaving it in terms of {{{pi}}}.
