Question 797925
A 40L solution of salt water contains 15% salt. What is the least amount of water that can be added to form solution that is no more than 5% salt?
-------------
Equation:
water + water = water
0.85*40 + 1*x = 0.95(40+x)
-------
85*40 + 100x = 95*45 + 95x
-----------------
5x = 10*45
x = 90L (amt. of water needed)
