Question 797669

The sum of four even consecutive numbers is 100. What is the difference between the smallest and the largest number?

Let 1st even number be E

2nd even number: E + 2

3rd even number: E + 4

4th even number: E + 6

They sum to 100, so set the numbers equal to 100, and solve for the least even number, or E.

Do a check!!

Calculate the difference between the largest and smallest.
