Question 67642
y2-3y+2=0

I hope that y2 is {{{y^2}}}? If so, then I can answer it.
{{{y^2-3y+2=0}}}. Factor this completely: (y-2)(y-1). This equals
{{{y^2-3y+2}}}, doesn't it?
So now... we follow the zero product property... think. If y equals 2,
then= (2-2)(2-1)=0. 0(1)=0. 0=0. It is correct... but...
another answer is 1. (1-2)(1-1)=0. -1(0)=0. 0=0.
So at the end... y equals {1,2}.
