Question 796399
<font face="Times New Roman" size="+2">

You cannot solve for *[tex \LARGE W] when the problem is *[tex \LARGE 2w\ -\ y\ =\ 7w\ -\ 2]

There is no *[tex \LARGE W] in *[tex \LARGE 2w\ -\ y\ =\ 7w\ -\ 2] because *[tex \LARGE W] and *[tex \LARGE w] are NOT the same thing.

You can, however solve for *[tex \LARGE w]:

Add *[tex \LARGE y] to both sides

Add *[tex \LARGE -7w] to both sides

Collect like terms.

Multiply by the reciprocal of the resulting coefficient on *[tex \LARGE w].
