Question 8751
  {{{-4(x-2y)^2 + 8(x-2y)}}}

By taking the common factor, (x-2y), we get

  (x-2y)[-4(x-2y) + 8]

=  (x-2y)(-4x+8y+8)

=  (x-2y).4(-x+2y+2)

=  4(x-2y)(-x+2y+2).....Answer

There is another way of solving this problem as below:-

Let (x-2y) be = a

So above experession will be

   {{{-4a^2 + 8a}}}

 =  4a(-a+2)

 = now by replacing a by its original value,

 =  4(x-2y)(-x+2y+2)  ......   Answer

  This way also we can factorise the expression.
