Question 793979
For both of these we want to put them in the "slope/intercept form, that is:
y = mx + b, where
m = the slope
b = the y intercept (occurs when x = 0)
:
slope for this one:
3x + 4y = 12
subtract 3x from both sides
4y = -3x + 12
divide both sides by 4
y = {{{-3/4}}}x + 3, this is the slope/intercept form
You can see the slope (m) is {{{-3/4}}}
;
;
y-intercept for this one:
 4x + y = 8
Subtract 4x from both sides
y = -4x + 8; this is the slope intercept form
You can see that the y intercept (b) is 8, occurs when x=0
y will equal 8 when x = 0 right?
