Question 781307
Thanks for using the magic word please.
Given;
(1) {{{(3x^3)*(-4x^(-4))}}}
First multiply the coefficients 3 and -4 to get
(2) {{{-12*(x^3)*(x^(-4))}}}
Now multiply the two powers, {{{x^3}}} and {{{x^(-4)}}}, together. Since the two powers have the same base, x, we merely add the exponents to get
(3) {{{-12*(x^(3-4))}}} or
(4) {{{-12*(x^(-1))}}}
Answer: {{{-12*x^(-1)}}}
