Question 777590
<font face="Times New Roman" size="+2">

Evaluate *[tex \LARGE -x\ +\ a\ –\ b] when *[tex \LARGE a\ =\ 3], *[tex \LARGE b\ =\ 4], *[tex \LARGE x\ =\ -3], and *[tex \LARGE n\ =\ 11].

Write *[tex \LARGE -x\ +\ a\ –\ b] in pencil. Erase the *[tex \LARGE x] and write *[tex \LARGE (-3)] in that place. Erase the *[tex \LARGE a] and write *[tex \LARGE (3)] in that place. And erase the *[tex \LARGE b] and write *[tex \LARGE (4)] in that place.

You should have:

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ -(-3)\ +\ (3)\ -\ (4)]

Now do the arithmetic.

For the other one, apply the distributive property, *[tex \LARGE \forall\ a,\,b,\,c\ \in\ \mathbb{R},\ a(b\ +\ c)\ =\ ab\ +\ ac], then collect like terms.
