Unless some of the blocks are missing from the interior of the base, then a square formed of 32 blocks, each in the shape of a cube, is impossible.  A square base formed of 32 blocks would have to be arranged into a square that is *[tex \LARGE 4\sqrt{2}] blocks on a side.
