Solve each equation for y and you have (after any simplifying) your y=mx+b form for each equation.  Both equations so transformed will be a little easier to graph.  Then read the intersection point from the graph.  The y-intercepts are at "b" for each equation.  The slope is "m" in each equation.  See! Easy to graph!


To check algebraically, equate each formula for y and solve for the x coordinate...!  You do the parts that I am not showing.
