Question 763251
Not sure what I am doing wrong with the following equation:
3y+7/y^2-5y+6. Subtract 3/y-3
:
this is not an equation, you have no equal sign, you are subtracting
one expression from another
:
{{{(3y+7)/(y^2-5y+6)}}} - {{{3/(y-3)}}}
Factor the 1st denominator,
As you said, the common denominator is (y-3)(y-2)
{{{(3y+7)/((y-3)(y-2))}}} - {{{3/(y-3)}}}
Write as a single fraction
{{{((3y+7)-3(y-2))/((y-3)(y-2))}}}
Remove brackets, combine like terms
{{{((3y + 7- 3y + 6))/((y-3)(y-2))}}} = {{{13/((y-3)(y-2))}}}
