Question 762338

Problem 1:
If the sum of 2 angles is 90, they are complementary.
If the sum of 2 angles is 180, they are supplementary.

Just add the 2 angles given in each problem - if they add up to 90, they are complementary. If they add up to 180, they are supplementary. If the sum is not 90 or 180, they are neither supplementary nor complementary.

As an example, 40,50 are a pair of complementary angles. 110,70 are a pair of supplementary angles.

Problem 2:
From the above definition, it is clear that:
Complement of an angle = 90 - the angle
Supplement of an angle = 180 - the angle.
For each angle given, do the subtraction as given above, to find the complement and supplement.
For example, complement of 80 = (90-80) = 10 and supplement of 80 = (180-80) = 100.

Hope this helps.
