Question 752788
Your idea is correct if you want to do that way. You can also look for the axis intercepts of the equations and use them the plot the lines. Your choice. Your system is written as equations in standard form, so for each line, set x to 0 and find y; set y to 0 and find x. Those then are the intercepts for that line. Same for the other line.

Plot the lines and read their intersection. Done.

You want slope intercept form instead? You can!
{{{Ax+By=C}}}
{{{By=-Ax+C}}}
{{{y=(-Ax+C)/B}}}
{{{y=-(A/B)x+C/B}}}   this is slope-intercept form, "y=mx+b"
