With an absolute value inequality set up one inequality for the positive value, and one for the negative.  Remember when you divide or multiply by a negative the sign flips.<P>
x<4 is one value.<P>
-x<4 is the other.  Divide both sides by -1.  Flip the inequality.  x>-4<P>
-4 < x < 4
