Question 737693
You mistyped your equation. The characters on the same key being "=" and "+", you must mean to write {{{y=(x+4)^2-1}}}.

That parabola equation is already in standard form, allowing you to read enough information to begin sketching its graph. The vertex is (-4,-1), and the vertex is a minimum (as we know based on the sign of the coefficienton the square term being positive 1). Let y=0 and solve for x to find the x intercepts:
{{{0=(x+4)^2-1}}}
{{{(x+4)^2=1}}}
{{{x+4=-1}}} or {{{x+4=1}}}
{{{x=-5}}} or {{{x=-3}}} as x intercepts.
but you could choose a couple other points to help get a better sense of the size of the parabola.
