The LCD of any two numbers that do not have any factors in common, such as 7 and *[tex \LARGE x\ +\ 9] is simply the product of the two quantities.  However, finding the LCD of these two fractions is inappropriate here.  What you want to do is to view this as a proportion, that is the equating of two ratios.  What you need to do is to cross multiply:  The product of the numerator on the left and the denominator on the right is equal to the product of the denominator on the left and the numerator on the right as in:

Then all you need to do is to collect like terms and solve the resulting linear equation.
