Question 733743
How would I be able to determine 89 degrees using the simple 3-4-5 carpenter's method of measure? (60" = 90 degrees)
----------------------
You can measure a distance from the corner, eg, 60"
The longest side of the triangle can be calculated using the Cosine Law:
{{{s^2 = 60^2 + 60^2 - 2*60*60*cos(89)}}}
{{{s^2 = 7200 - 125.657}}}
s =~ 84.11"
