Question 730403
The test is 50% of your grade. Assuming that the remaining stuff is worth 50% of your grade (100 - 50 = 50), this would mean

(Grade on Test)*(Weight of Test) + (Average on the remaining stuff)*(Weight of Remaining Stuff)

(1)*(0.5) + (0.83)*(0.5)

0.5 + 0.415

0.915

So the new average is now 91.5%

The reason for the big jump is that you got 100% (I think that's what you meant) on the test. The test is worth 50%, which is a significant portion. So that's why your grade went up so high.
