Question 63548
3x+5y=1
FIRST PUT THE EQN. IN STD. FORM
Y = MX + C
THAT IS KEEP ONLY Y..[NOTE ONLY +1*Y IT SHOULD BE] ON LHS AND TRANSFER X AND CONSTANT TERMS TO RHS.
THEN M THE COEFFFICIENT OF X IS THE SLOPE AND CONSTANT TERM IS THE Y INTERCEPT OR CALLED THE INTERCEPT IN SHORT
HERE WE GET
5Y=-3X+1
Y=-3X/5 +1/5
HENCE M= SLOPE = -3/5
AND INTERCEPT = 1/5
4x-5y=2 ....SIMILARLY
M=4/5......INTERCEPT = -2/5
2x+3y+5=0
M= -2/3..INTERCEPT = -5/3
Then instructions says to find the slope of the line.
I tried working these problems but I am not fully understanding what to do first. Can you give me a break down step by step how to do these problems. thanks so much for your help
