Question 717456
A yard is a measure of length or distance. A cubic yard is a measure of volume. One does not mean the other.

A yard, being 3 feet, causes a cubic yard to be 27 cubic feet.
Concrete slab of 14 ft. by 16 ft. by 6 inch is the same as being 14 ft. by 16 ft. by (1/2) ft.

The volume as cubic feet is {{{14*16*(1/2)}}}.
The volume as cubic yards would then be {{{14*16*(1/2)*(1/27)}}} cubic yards.
