Presuming you mean:

*[tex \LARGE 10\ -\ 2|5\ -\ x|\ =\ 3]

Add -10 to both sides.

Multiply both sides by *[tex \LARGE -\frac{1}{2}]

Then

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ 5\ -\ x\ =\ \frac{7}{2}]

or

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ 5\ -\ x\ =\ -\frac{7}{2}]

Solve both for *[tex \LARGE x]. Check both answers.
