Question 7847
I'm not certain what you mean by "ranicand" but I expect that you meant to write "radicand", so I'll proceed on that basis.

Simplify: {{{sqrt(56)/sqrt(40)}}} You can factor the integers under the radical signs.

{{{sqrt(56) = sqrt(2*4*7)}}} = {{{sqrt(2)sqrt(4)sqrt(7)}}}and,
{{{sqrt(40) = sqrt(2*4*5)}}} = {{{sqrt(2)sqrt(4)sqrt(5)}}}

So, now we have: {{{(sqrt(2)sqrt(4)sqrt(7))/sqrt(2)sqrt(4)sqrt(5)}}} Cancelling like factors leaves us with:

{{{sqrt(7)/sqrt(5)}}}
