Question 697327

{{{a-6/a+15 = 2a/2a+6}}} Please provide check. I really don't understand this, thank you so much in advance!

{{{a - 6/a + 15 = 2a/2a + 6}}}

{{{2a/2a}}} is 1. Therefore, {{{a - 6/a + 15 = 2a/2a + 6}}} becomes: {{{a - 6/a + 15 = 1 + 6}}}. Are you sure this is how the problem was stated?

{{{a^2 - 6 + 15a = 7a}}} ------ Multiplying by LCD, a

{{{a^2 + 15a - 7a - 6 = 0}}}

{{{a^2 + 8a - 6 = 0}}}

You can use the quadratic equation to solve, but for some reason, I believe that the problem was incorrectly stated. If so, say so in the thank-you note and I will redo.
