Question 694171
Find the three solutions to x^3=8
I've already factored it using the difference of cubes and found one solution, 2, but when i get to the quadratic formula I'm confused.

{{{x^3 = 8}}} ----- {{{x^3 - 8 = 0}}}

{{{(x - 2)(x^2 + 2x + 4)}}} ---- Applying difference of cube factorization

The discriminant ({{{sqrt(- 12)}}}) for the quadratic equation: {{{x^2 + 2x + 4}}} signifies roots that are imaginary (< 0), so the only solution is {{{highlight_green(x = 2)}}}
