Question 693418
Is the function y=2x-5/x-2 which means {{{y=2x-5/x-2}}}

or y=(2x-5)/(x-2) which means {{{y=(2x-5)/(x-2)}}}   ????????

You said second one:

{{{y=(2x-5)/(x-2)}}}

Intercept means where it crosses one axis. For x-intercept, y is zero. For y-intercept, x is zero. The other letter is zero.

So, y-intercept ({{{x=0}}}):

 {{{y=(2*0-5)/(0-2)=(-5)/(-2)=5/2}}}

{{{y[intercept]=5/2}}}

and x-intercept ({{{y=0}}}):

{{{0=(2x-5)/(x-2)}}}

{{{0=2x-5}}}

{{{x[intercept]=5/2}}}

Sometimes it happens to be the same number for both x and y intercepts (like in this case), but it is not the rule.
