Question 691237
y=mx+b is the slope intercept form for a line equation. m is the slope and b is the y intercept. In this equation if the slope is 10 the equation is y (or f(x)) = 10x -5.

Find the x-intercept by setting each one equal to 0

2x-5 = 0 ---> 2x = 5 ---> x=5/2.

10x-5 = 0 ---> 10x = 5 ---> x =5/10 = 1/2. The new x-intercept is 1/2. D is the answer.

As for the others:

A slope of 10 compared to a slope of 2...the slope of 10 is more steep.

A vertical shift for f(x) happens when something is added. g(x) = f(x) + c is a shift up c units. 2x-5+15 = 2x+10.

Changing the slope does not rotate the line, it just makes it steeper.
