The leading coefficient is the coefficient of the leading term.  In a polynomial the leading term is the highest degree variable (in this case x^2).<P>
{{{3x^2+5-sqrt(5)x^2}}}.  Combine like terms.<P>
{{{(3-srqt(5))x^2 - 5}}}  The leading coefficient is {{{3-sqrt(5)}}}
