(8x (x to the 2 power) + 8x-2)-(8x (x to 2nd power) +5) = 6x+2. 
(8x^2+8x-2) - (8x^2+5 )= 6x+2
8x^2-8x^2+8x-2-5=6x+2
8x-7=6x+2
2x=9
x=9/2
