Hi,
The factor theorem states that a polynomial f(x) has a factor (x − k) if and only if f(k) = 0
So... (x-3) is a factor of p(x)=2x^4-5x^3-5x^2+18 || IF p(3) = 0
p(x) = 2x^4-5x^3-5x^2+18
{{{p(3) = 2(3)^4 - 5(3)^3 - 5(3)^2 + 18 = 2*81 - 5*27 - 5*9 + 18 = 0}}}
Yes. (x-3) is a factor of p(x) = 2x^4-5x^3-5x^2+18
