Question 672769

I have a sequence of 5,15,25,35,... and I am suppose to find the 50th term , and I am not sure how to find it can you help me.

This is an arithmetic sequence since the terms differ by 10. Applying the arithmetic sequence formula, {{{t[n] = t[1] + (n - 1)d}}}, with {{{t[n]}}} being the term value, or {{{t[50]}}}, {{{t[1]}}} being term number 1, or 5, n being 50, and d being the common difference between the terms, or 10, we get:

{{{t[n] = t[1] + (n - 1)d}}}

{{{t[50] = 5 + (50 - 1)10}}}

{{{t[50] = 5 + (49)10}}}

{{{t[50] = 5 + 490}}}

{{{highlight_green(t[50] = 495)}}}
