Question 669337

Evaluate the expression.
log3 15 − log3 30 + log3 486
i gotten to the part where log3 243.. and im stuck after that

Yes, that will give you: {{{log(3,243)}}}, and {{{log(3,243)}}} = {{{highlight_green(5)}}} (computer, or calculator-calculated),

OR

{{{log(3,243)}}} ------ {{{3^x = 243}}} ----- {{{3^x = 3^5}}}

As the bases are equal, so are their exponents. Therefore, {{{log(3,243)}}} = {{{highlight_green(5)}}}

You can do a check by calculating the original problem: {{{log(3,15) - log(3,30) + log(3,486)}}}, which will give you: 5.
