Question 668691
If you have an isosceles right triangle, then your legs are equal, your hypotenuse is different. By our pythagorean theorem:

a^2 + b^2 = c^2  but a =b so:

a^2 + a^2 = c^2

2a^2 = c^2

2(3*sqrt(2))^2 = c^2

2 * 3^2 * sqrt(2)^2  = c^2

2* 9 * 2 = c^2

36 = c^2

{{{c = 6 = (3 * sqrt(2)) * sqrt(2)}}} <--- the form you mentioned
