Question 60345
Good question.
<br>
We know the slope of a line is its rise/run (i.e. (change in y)/(change in x)). So if we were given any two points we could find the slope of a line that passes through them. Let's say we had the points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2). Then we would do the following in ordre to find the slope:
<br>
{{{(y1-y2)/(x1-x2)}}}
<br>
In this case then, we would do the following with the points (-3, -5) and (3, 2):
<br>
{{{(-5-2)/(-3-3) = (-7)/(-6) = 7/6}}}
<br>
Hence, the slope of the line is 7/6 (You can think of this as: for every six steps in the x direction there are 7 in the y direction).

Hope this helped.
