Question 664798

Question: Two of the angles of a triangle have measures of 50 degrees and 60 degrees. Which number cannot be the measure of an exterior angle of this triangle?

One angle = {{{50^o}}}, and another = {{{60^o}}}, so third = 180 - (50 + 60), or 180 - 110, or {{{80^o}}}

As interior and exterior angles are supplementary (sum to {{{180^o}}}), the exterior angle of the {{{50^o}}} interior angle = 180 - 50, or {{{130^o}}}

The exterior angle of the {{{60^o}}} interior angle = 180 - 60, or {{{120^o}}}

The exterior angle of the {{{80^o}}} interior angle = 180 - 80, or {{{100^o}}}

This means that {{{highlight_green(110^o)}}} is the ODD one out.
