The reason they call an ordered pair by that name is that the values in the ordered pair are always in the same order, namely *[tex \LARGE (x,y)].  So take the value from the ordered pair that represents the value of *[tex \LARGE x] for that point and substitute it for *[tex \LARGE x] in the inequality.  Do the same thing for the value in the ordered pair that represents *[tex \LARGE y].  Do the indicated arithmetic.  If the process results in a true statement, then the given ordered pair IS an element of the solution set of the inequality.  If false, then not.
