Question 59881
Use square root procedure to solve the following quadratic equation. I was able to get down to the last part of problem but have been stumped since.

2x^2=48

1) 2x^2/2=48/2
2) x^2=24
3) x=+-sq root 24
4) ????
I am assuming, that you need this reduced and not an approximate answer that you can get with a calculator. Separate 24 into factors in which one is a perfect square.
{{{x=-sqrt(24)}}} and {{{x=sqrt(24)}}}
{{{x=-sqrt(4)*sqrt(6)}}} and {{{x=sqrt(4)*sqrt(6)}}}
The square root of 4 is 2.
{{{x=-2*sqrt(6)}}} and {{{x=2*sqrt(6)}}}
Happy Calculating!!!
