Question 659128

Direction: Divide and simplify if possible.

cuberoot(x^2+5x+6)/cuberoot(x+2)

I did the following and got stuck: cuberoot(x^2+5x+6/x+2)=Cuberoot(5x+3)
I canceled out an x from the top and divided 6 by 2 to get the answer.

The book says I should have got cuberoot(x+3) for the answer. What is the correct way to solve this?

{{{(root(3, x^2 + 5x + 6))/root(3, x + 2)}}} ------ {{{root(3, (x^2 + 5x + 6)/(x + 2))}}} ------- {{{root(3, ((x + 3)(x + 2))/(x + 2))}}} ------- {{{root(3, ((x + 3)cross((x + 2)))/cross((x + 2)))}}} ------- {{{highlight_green(root(3, x + 3))}}}
