Question 59812
2y + 4x = 8           {{{1}}}
y + 2x = 1            {{{2}}}
Multiplying {{{2}}} with 2
2y+4x = 2  {{{3}}}
You will notice that {{{3}}} is very similar to {{{1}}} except that in the first equation the sum adds up to 8
and in the third equation the sum adds up to 2
How is that possible??
It isnt!!

So the system is Inconsistent!!

Alternatively, subtract {{{3}}} from {{{1}}}
2y + 4x = 8
2y + 4x = 4
 0 = 4 which is not possible. So you can say the system in Inconsistent.
