Hi,
If the largest of three consecutive even integers
{{{highlight(x)}}}   10
{{{highlight(x + 2)}}}  12
{{{highlight(x + 4)}}}  14
is multiplied by three, the product <u>is</u> 2 less than twice the sum of the first two integers
Question states***
 3(x+4) = 2[x +(x+2)] - 2
 3x + 12 = 2(2x+2) - 2
 3x + 12 = 4x + 4 - 2
      10 = x
and...
{{{3* 14= 2*22 - 2 = 42}}}
