Hi,
Using the standard slope-intercept form for an equation of a line y = mx + b
  where m is the slope and b the y-intercept.
1) y-intercept of -2.1,x-intercept of 3.5   ||Points:  (0,-2.1) and (3.5,0)
  y = mx + (-2.1)
  y = mx - 2.1
finding the slope m
(0,-2.1) and
(3.5,0) m = -2.1/-3.5 = .6
  y = .6x - 2.1

2)through(1.2,5.1),
x-intercept of 3.7  Pt(3.7,0)
(3.7,0)
(1.2,5.1)  m = -5.1/2.5 = - 2.04
 y = -2.04x + b   || Using Pt(3.7,0) to solve for b
 0 = {{{-2.04*3.7 + b}}}
7.548 = b
  y = -2.04x + 7.548
